A team of UK and US researchers analysed the UK data that formed part of the Global Burden of Disease Study 2012. The result of their analysis showed amongst other things that the number of years that people live with disabling musculoskeletal disorders , including problems such as back and neck pain, represented one of the largest burdens facing the UK today.
Not only would it appear that back and neck pain is on the rise, it would seem people are living with the problems for longer.
