At Muswell Hill Chiropractic Clinic we see a number of patients who are suffering back and neck pain as a result of spending a large amount of their time every day either in front of their desktop PC or hunched over their laptop or mobile device.
While the problem isn’t that they are using these devices, the problem lies in what happens to their posture when doing so.
The British Chiropractic Association (BCA) has put together a 2½ minute video that shows you how to set up your PC, desk and chair to help mind your back. In addition, there are tips for carrying your mobile devices to avoid back problems.

In addition to setting up your seating position correctly remember to take breaks at regular intervals. You may want to do some stretches or do something completely different.
You may want to include the Straighten Up UK programme a couple of times during the day. The Straighten Up UK programme is a 3 minute programme that has been designed by the BCA to improve posture and help prevent back pain.
The programme promotes balance, strength and flexibility in the spine. It is made up of a short sequence of exercises each with a specific purpose.
